I found myself becoming very close to food. Don't get me wrong, I've always been fond of food, I like to eat it, to play with it, to cook it but until 2 or 3 years ago I wasn't that passionate about it.
I guess I should have to blame all those cooking shows on tv. I watched a lot of them, I got to know all about Gordon, Jamie, Nigella (mmmm Nigella....), Heston, George, Gary and so on but I never thought while seeing those chefs cook "Oh I will never be able to do that".
Maybe I'm just over confident or maybe they never striked me like real cooks, even though they have Michelin stars and thousands of restaurants.
But at one point, one chef got to me. Marco. I knew about him, I had seen him on some shows and I was kind of scared, he wasn't scary/funny like Gordon, he was actually terrifying. He has the face of a beaten dog after an organized fight in some Mexico's alley. He shouts and he smokes and he looks right through you. So I looked him up.
He's now over 50 and he looks like he could be older, and yes he's scary, he's intense but he also has one of the best man voices I've heard in all my life. The british accent helps a lot and the fact he's been smoking quite a lot in his life helps too. He's calm, well educated, nice to everyone then in the kitchen he becomes a beast. And I love it!
I can't help it, when he shouts I get a high, maybe it's because I want to become a chef, maybe it's because I am a tv addicted and I like this sort of entertaining, I have no idea, but you should at least watch this promo and then tell me what effects it has on you.
